Numbers Freezing/Crashing losing work

Im working on a Mac mini. 3.2 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7, OS 15.0.1 (24A348). Im using numbers and recently noticed some unusual issues when using the app. when I take a value from another sheet I frequently have to repeat the steps to do this multiple times before it works. im doing nothing different, it just works after repeatedly doing the same steps! this is frustrating but what's more frustrating is now im losing my progress. I hit save many times but my progress keeps vanishing between sessions! Help please I love this app and I don't want to return to thr other options!
