I am able to copy my playlist and other files to my USB and they show they are there with sizing of 4-6mb but they will not play from my mac or car. Ideas?

The card may not understand the playlist format and therefore reject the whole USB. Try copying only the MP3 files to a "fresh" USB without the playlist and see if that helps.
