Can Pages be used for E-mail?

I drafted a reply in Pages to an incoming E-mail . I expected I would e able to send finished draft as an E-mail using my correspondent's address. How can I position finished text to be able to SEND the intended E-mail reply?

Although Pages can send a copy of a Pages document, or other allowed and exported document format as an Apple Mail attachment, it will not behave as a Mail compose tool to send only the finished text. Even if you copy/pasted that finished text into an Apple Mail compose window, there is no guarantee that the formatting in Pages will appear identically in Apple Mail, or what the recipient's mail client formatting will permit.

Copy/Paste.

If you tell pages to send the document via email, it will send it as an attachment, which doesn't sound like what you want.

Instead you're pretty much limited to copying the text and pasting it into a new Mail message. most of the formatting should be retained, depending on how complex your formatting is.
