Unable to turn off my AirPods charging case sounds?

The issue with not being able to turn off the charging case sounds has returned with the latest update.

This has been an issue before and it’s very frustrating that Apple is releasing products with bugs like this now. Engineering is not the same as when Jobs was still alive.

I know how you’re supposed to turn the sounds off before someone makes a comment about that, but it is grayed out and I shouldn’t need to forget the AirPods and delete everything to cut the **** sounds off.
