How to use another app while recording on clips

I need to record myself reading something on the clips app on my ipad for a test at my school. However, I wrote it on word instead of on paper, and if I leave the clips app the recording stops. I tried doing Split View but it does the same thing. Please help me. (My device is a ipad 10th gen with iPadOS 18)
