No Audio from Line6 Helix to Logic on new Mac Studio

I'm probably missing something really obvious so I just need a bit of help troubleshooting.

Mac Studio running Sonoma 14.6 with 64 GB RAM. Logic Pro 11.0.1

Line6 Helix connected via USB (I have tried both the USB 2 sockets on the back and USB 3 sockets on the front with no difference in behaviour on either).

Both Audio MIDI setup app and Logic recognise that the Helix is connected, but when I play my bass through it no audio signal is detected at the input in Logic. I have the input monitoring button for the relevant channel enabled. I have tried all 8 input channels that are activated when the Helix is connected with no luck on any.

I have downloaded and installed the Helix driver to allow 44.1kHz recording from the Helix and this is recognised in both Audio MIDI app and Logic.

Audio is definitely passing through the Helix. Plugging in headphones to the Helix I can hear my bass.

I also have a very basic Behringer UCA202 audio interface. Logic recognises that and audio registers on the input meters.

Finally I tried recording using the QuickTime Player app. I can hear the output of the Helix when in record mode although the signal level seems low.

Helix still works perfectly with my old MacPro 5.1 and Logic 10.4.8

What have I missed?

https://line6.com/software/index.html?hardware=All&name=Helix%20Native&submit_form=set

and there’s a firmware update for Helix, here:

https://line6.com/software/index.html.. just look for firmware on the pull down box…

other than that, i have nothing…. Hopefully they’ll let me post with the links intact, otherwise , it’s a strike out..

I had already done all of those things when the latest firmware was released.

However, entirely by chance I have fixed the problem, so for anyone who is interested:

1. I needed to allow Logic access to the "microphone" even though there is no actual microphone anywhere in this set up.

This put an orange microphone icon in the menu bar.

2. I had to reboot the Mac.

3. Then on launching Logic there was still no input signal from the Helix. However clicking on both the microphone menu bar pop-up and the input channel pop up but not actually doing anything or than leaving the options that were already selected as they were, suddenly I had an input signal.
