Indexing a large Folder in MacBook Pro M3 Sequoia

I am unable to index a folder in MacBook Pro

  1. I follow instructions from AI by going to Spotlight ; Privacy Settings:
  • Add the folder: Drag the large folder you want to re-index into the "Search Privacy" list. (+) then,
  • Remove the folder: Select the added folder from the list and click the remove button (-) to initiate re-indexing

2) Nothing happens per following the above so files do not get indexed nor there is any confirmation or any metering or icon in the toolbar or in finder showing progress of indexing or whether indexing failed.

3) If I search in Spotlight search for "Spotlight" it takes me to the internet Web to give me a Spotlight in Disney or Netflix or some idol show like Madona and does not search within the Computer?

4) I have followed AI instructions as to how to be able to prioritize searching for files inside my computer or T2 capsule or WD Drive. I am not interested searching the web when I am working on my files. If I search the web I prefer to do through my browsers.

Kindly please assist me with the above issues. Thank you.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.0
