The hard reset isn't working on my I watch I'm pressing holding the two buttons for over 10 seconds. All I get is the red lightning bolt and the time.

If the watch does not charge after sitting 30min on the charger, the battery might be damaged, and needs to be replaced by Apple.
I had to do that on my old Series 5 after 2.5 years, as the battery health dropped below 80% and I had to charge the watch at least twice a day.

If you have a red lightning bolt, first charge it for a prolonged period of time before attempting the forced restart
thank you however I can't get it to charge which is why I was doing a hard. Reset all connections are good. I just get the red lightning bolt and the time that when I press those buttons.
