Why is Apple Intelligence unavailable on my MacBook?

I bought my MacBook Air m2 while I was travelling in China. However, I have left China and am using an Apple account that is not registered in China. Why can't I access Apple Intelligence on my Mac?

Apple Intelligence on Devices Purchased in China, Used Abroad I bought my MacBook Air (15-inch, M3, 2024) in Mainland China. Now I have moved to Singapore and changed my region in system settings and iCloud account settings. (System upgraded to Tahoe today.) However, same as in China, Apple Intelligence and the applications that rely on it are still missing. There is only "Siri", instead of "Apple Intelligence & Siri", under Settings. Is it because Apple Intelligence is restricted based on the hardware model? If not, Is there anyway I can get Apple Intelligence on my device?

may i 'please' understand why apple intelligence is not available on the mac purchased in china located in australia, bought my mac in china, just had my m1 mac upgraded to sequoia 15.1, but found apple intelligence nowhere in the settings, searched and found it's not support the devices purchased in china so confused, what should i do now? sell it and buy a new one? or apply for a visa for my mac?

Because devices purchased in China aren't permitted to have Apple Intelligence, until Apple Intelligence is approved in China. Changing your region won't make a difference.
