Apple Music 90days lock without reason

Hello.

Since I updated my iPhone to iOS 18, I have several problems with Apple Music.

First, before the issue occuring :

  • My iPhone was linked to an AppleID1 for Media & Purchase
  • My iPhone was linked to an AppleID2 for iCloud
  • I have a subscription to Apple One so I can access Apple Music and use it for transfer my own music to the cloud with iTunes Match

After my update to iOS 18, concerning my AppleID1, for many reasons (like attempts to hack my mailbox), I decided to create an alias which means modifying the suffix of the mailbox. So I made to modification on my AppleID1 to change it from xxx@live.fr to xxx@outlook.fr (it is not a Apple Id replacement, just a modification of the mail address on the same Apple ID)

Then, each time I try to download a track from Apple Music or to play a transfered track from the cloud, I encounter the error « This device can’t be transferred… This device is already linked and cannot be transfered for xx days Â». I called Apple support many times but no solution has been found.

While my last call to Apple support, the person say that having two different Apple ID for iCloud and « Media & Purchases Â» is not a good configuration and that it is more safe to have only one account for both. I’m sorry but I have my AppleID1 since 2008 and early 2010’s Apple forced users to create a new one for using new iCloud services after the end of MobileMe.. anyway..

So I manuelle migrated all my AppleID2 data to AppleID1, then deleted my AppleID2 on privacy.apple.com to connect to my AppleID1 for « Media & Purchases Â».

Despite of this I still encoutered the same issue and cannot Play my downloaded Apple Music tracks for the next two months… I can’t use my Apple Watch to play downloaded music and I’m limited to play only the streaming Apple Music catalog, and it is very embarassing.

The conclusion is trying to protect our Apple Id by changing its suffix to prevent hack attempts can make your Apple Music account inoperative, for normal use, and Apple can’t actually find a solution for this… so be careful when you make modification on your Apple ID so that can be fatal for your Apple experience
