Unwanted Genre Recommendations in Apple Music — Need Help!

Hello,

I’ve been experiencing an issue with the recommendations I see in Apple Music. No matter where I look—whether it’s the “For You” section, party playlists, or new releases—most of my suggestions are dominated by Indian spiritual and devotional music. While I’ve tried using the “Suggest Less” option, it hasn’t made any noticeable difference.

I’d like to refine these recommendations without resetting my account, as I don’t want to lose my liked songs and playlists I’ve created. Does anyone have advice on how to correct or manage these recommendations without starting from scratch?

In addition to using the Suggest Less on the song, also go to the album of the song and also the artist of the song and choose Suggest Less on each of those too. You will see results much quicker when the entire album and artist is marked in this way.

Using Suggest Less on the songs is good for fine tuning results where you may like other songs from that artist, but for major changes in genre, it is the artist that will be more relevant in changing your recommended songs.

Thank you for the suggestion! I’ve started following your advice to use “Suggest Less” on not only the songs but also on the albums and artists. I’m hoping this will lead to better results, but it’s turning into a very time-consuming process since the unwanted recommendations are all over every section of my Apple Music.

It’s literally taking hours to go through each song, album, and artist individually, and it seems like it might be a while before I see any real change. I appreciate the tip and will keep going with it, but if there are any additional ways to speed this up, I’d love to hear them. Thanks again!
