Calendar App is NOT syncing with Google calendars: keeps saying "server responded with an error"

Hello -

I am on a MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.7.10. Every time I go into my Apple Calendar app on my MacBook, it says "server responded with an error." This pop-up freezes the whole calendar app and there is no way for me to use any part of it. I have tried restarting my computer, etc., to no avail. My google calendar works fine if I log in on the internet and it has always synced great with my apple calendar in the past. It also works fine on my phone via the calendar app, so it's something specific to my MacBook. Please help -- it is so frustrating not to be able to access my calendar on my computer!!
