Crossword puzzle in Apple News will not scroll

iPad running ios18.1 The crossword puzzle won’t scroll so I cannot type answers into the lower part of the grid. I pay for Apple News and expect the crosswords to work. What’s up with this? The puzzle will not size or scroll. The keyboard covers part of the puzzle.
