Why is video sound not working during FaceTime calls on iPhone 16 Pro Max?

I used to be able to watch videos while I sat on FaceTime with my friends. I just bought the iPhone 16 pro max and just started using iOS 18 and now I can’t hear anything besides the FaceTime call. Silent is off, volume is up, made sure the videos aren’t muted but still nothing. How can I fix this?
