Crossword board is now static and clues hide part of it.

This week something changed in the Apple News crosswords. Previously the crossword board could be moved up and down so you can view all of it when there is a longer clue. Now the board is static and longer clues cover the bottom one or two rows making it extremely frustrating to play as you can’t see the squares. This mean across tiles are completely obscured and you can’t tell how long the word is or what squares are filled in.

I’m on an iPhone SE with iOS 17. Maybe I’ll update to iOS 18 and see if that makes any difference.
