I had this problem. Mysterious. Then I remembered I read somewhere that the new Siri only works for US English. In the “Apple Intelligence & Siri” menu change the language to US English. Siri will return to her new self.

Update your iPhone:

I see iOS 18 is installed. iOS 18.1 is the latest available iOS. So, update to it. IMPORTANT: backup your iPhone to have something to restore it from, should anything go wrong after the install.

Update the iPhone:

Create a backup of your iPhone and then reset it to Factory Settings. then restore your iPhone from it. The stay clear some caches.

Report this to Apple...

Update issues are commonly-reported issues on these forums. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported this to Apple?"

So, do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary
