Search on my MacBook Pro stops working across all Apple tools

I have had an issue that has been bothering me since Ventura, but it seems to be getting worse. The search on my system just stops working across all Apple-related tools: Spotlight, mail, calendar, and, most recently, system settings. Another topic here suggested running `sudo mdutil -a -i on` and `sudo mdutil -a -i off` on the terminal. That seems to help for Mail and Spotlight, but I can only get the system settings search to work again by rebooting.

I would appreciate it if anyone knows anything that might mitigate this annoying issue.
