MacBook Pro 2012 OS 10.8.5 Not Able to Update

I need help! My old MacBook Pro 2012 was in idle for a couple of years now. Recently our church might have found a purpose for it so I was trying wipe it clean. Some how I wiped the machine back to OS 10.8.5. I am unable to do any updates and I did tried download the updated via web but it just didn't seems to be working. What can I do? Appreciate the help!
