MS Word for Mac is laggy while typing and scrolling

MS word for mac is laggy, especially when typing and scrolling. I am using a 400 page document with only text, formatting, page breaks, section breaks, and different scripts: Hindi - Sanskrit Text, Urdu - Noto Nastaliq Urdu, English- Sanskrit text. Generally by itself it is okay but after pasting information from using CHAT GPT 4, it seems to get worse. There are no images, just text. Also the "resume where left off" doesn't realiably come back and I have to scroll through 100's of pages to get back where I was last time. Sometimes it works, other times the document opens as if it were never saved, i.e. the red dot has a black dot in the center indicating that it needs to be saved even though I just opened it.

Softmaker Office is the only Office clone I recommend, as it maintains the formatting of Word documents better than anything outside of Word for the Mac stand alone. Even Office 365 web version isn't as good.

Are you using a Chat GPT stand alone App? Because that could be eating web processing power.

Is OneDrive active on the Mac?

Is iCloud syncing data with the Mac?

Both cloud syncing folder options delay a lot unless you have high speed upstream internet, only available with fiberoptic internet.

Is your hard drive more than 85% full? Hashing through files when it gets fuller means a lot of temporary files get created to multitask.

Don't use any system optimizer as this tip explains:
