I want to get my RAW photos stored in ICloud into Lightroom classic. When I export the images from iCloud they are always in jpeg format.

Every time I try to get photos from iCloud it exports them in jpeg. I’ve tried putting them in an external hard drive and ssd drive. Also tried putting them into a folder on my desktop on my MAC. I want to get them into Lightroom Classic as RAW files to edit them. How do I maintain the RAW file format when I take them from iCloud.

Mac Studio, macOS 14.5

You're downloading these from Photos at iCloud.com, is that right? Do you not have your Mac Studio connected to iCloud Photos, because that would be the quickest way to get to your Photos originals.

I don't keep my RAW images on Photos, but I do have some there from some others. I just tried going to iCloud.com Photos, selecting an image, opening it with spacebar, and choosing the (…) "more" icon. There I chose "More Download Options" and picked "Unmodified Original." I got a .CR2 file, which I think is a Canon RAW file.

Is this what you did?
