Whenever I zoom in to view any/all lowlight macro shots on my phone, the photo has this over-exposed section on it; zooming back, the photo still has the over-exposed section. Although the photos have no issues viewing them when I upload/transfer them to my computer, but the experience just not good. I wonder what's causing this issue. Attached are the screenshots from the phone.

It appears when you enter the >Crop Mode< in Photos app, Apple reduces the color bit depth of the image. This speeds up the display (screen redraw) of the image. Are you shooting in HDR? What are the exposure settings?
I was asking about exposure settings, not the settings in the Camera section of the Settings app. But that’s OK. If you go into Edit mode it should appear more normal, like when it’s zoomed out. They might appear differently in a different, more professionally oriented app.
Update: Maybe IOS 18.1 update fixed the issue, the highlight rectangle is no longer there

Here's the setting for the camera. But would this be boarder line ridiculous if any settings adjustment is needed for properly viewing a photo taken on the iPhone?
Are the two images to the left the same photos that you show in the first post, just cropped in?
