There no “ loyalty card” choice in my wallet. How do I put loyalty cards in my Apple wallet?

It is no longer possible to add any loyalty card you want in a Wallet app, no matter what platform you use. The store must allow their loyalty card to be used in a Wallet app. This is true even for Android where Google now acknowledges it here:

Tip: If you can’t find the merchant or loyalty program name when you search the app, it means that the loyalty program isn't supported.

The store will add a link in their app, on their website, or an email link to add your Loyalty card to the Apple Wallet. If the store does not support using their loyalty card in a Wallet app, your only option is to take a picture and store it in your Photos. The store may be able to scan a barcode on this picture.

Loyalty cards can only be added to the Wallet if the company gives you that option through the use of their app or possibly an email link they have sent you. Anything added to your wallet needs to be approved by the issuing body of the card, whether it is a Credit/Debit card, Airline Tickets, Boarding Pass, Show Tickets, and even Loyalty cards.

Ad others have pointed out, you can only add them if the loyalty card company allows it. My Tesco card goes into Wallet via the Tesco app. Check if the loyalty card company has an app.

Why do you want to add it? My library doesn't support Wallet so I can't store my library card there. I took a picture of the library card bar code, stored it in a note, pinned the note so it's easy to find and it scans OK when I take books out.

It’s more secure which is what airlines, hotels, auto manufacturers, store accounts (think Starbucks), ticket issuers (think Ticketmaster) wanted.

If the retailer you want doesn’t support Apple Wallet, there are third party apps such as Pass2Uwallet (there are others) that crest custom loyalty cards.

Times change and so does the world. I’m sorry hackers and scammers exist, but apps and devices will change to protect and provide better security, safety and confidentiality.

As stated already, any card used to be able to be added on both Android and Apple Wallets, now it is not possible on either platform as the store must allow their card to be stored in the Wallet app. They can do this in a number of ways.

P.S. - You are free to use any device you wish. I suggest pick one that best meets your needs. It really makes no difference to any of us.

Your state must allow the option to add your Driver's License to the Wallet. So far, just a few states have passed legislation that would make that possible, with many more still working to pass legislation.

What are you trying to add? Are trying to add loyalty/rewards card for a gas station, grocery store, hotel chain or what exactly?

Are you trying to add a state issued ID or a driver’s license or again, what exactly are you trying to add to your wallet?

Yes this is terrible. I called Apple support and they told me to submit feedback here but I got an email that it was deleted because this isn’t the place to submit suggestions?!

seriously thinking of going back to Android because of this run-around!

I USED to be able to add cards manually, as evidenced by the TWO cards I added before they changed the options. Terrible!!!
