You have not established that your MacBook Air is compatible with Sidecar. All that you have told us about your Mac is that it is a "MacBook Air Monterey". Sidecar requires a MacBook Air released in 2018 or later – and there were MacBook Airs released in Early 2015 and in 2017 that are compatible with Monterey, but not with Sidecar.
