Why was the iphone 15 pro max discontinued? Are there issues with the product?

Curious why it was discontinued a year after it was released. We spend a lot of money on these products and should be informed about this information since we are investing in the product.

The Pro models get a one year lifecycle. When iPhone 13 Pro Max was released one year after the 12 Pro Max, the 12 Pro Max was discontinued. When the 14 Pro Max was released, the 13 Pro Max was discontinued. It is this way every year for the Pro Models. It is in no way indicative of any issues with the previous model. Apple does have a tendency to keep lower model iPhones available longer. But the Pro models are discontinued as soon as the next year model is released.

Just like when a car manufacturer releases the next year model of a car, the previous model year is discontinued.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max was discontinued when the iPhone 16 was introduced and Apple had no more inventory of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I would expect the iPhone 16 to be discontinued when next year's model is introduced and so forth.

It's always been this way for most models, but sometimes Apple has not sold out all of the previous year models, so these remain in inventory until they are sold out. For example, the iPhone 15 is still available from Apple. When the existing inventory has been sold, there will be no more iPhone 15s available from Apple.

I wish General Motors would have told me a new model was coming when I bought my 2024 (insert favorite model) last year. There must be something wrong with this car. Why don’t they tell us these things.

The fact of the matter is Apple has introduced new iPhones every year, with few exceptions due to COVID, since it was introduced in 2007. It’s expected and nothing you or I say will change it.

Your iPhone still does everything it did when it was new and with proper care it will give you years of service. My spouse loves her iPhone 15 Pro Max and when I offered to get her a new iPhone 16, she declined. I don’t blame her, it’s a great iPhone with a great camera.

I hope you get years of use and enjoyment out of yours too!
