Unable to fast forward/rewind YouTube videos

I have an Apple TV (model: A1625) that is up to date and over night I am no longer able to fast forward/rewind any YouTube videos. I have tried restarting the Apple TV and deleting and redownloading the app with no success. I also did a full factory reset and still am not able to fast forward/rewind any YouTube videos. The problem only occurs with the YouTube app. No issues with Netflix or other streaming apps. I have tried using my iPhone as the remote and that didn’t work either. I’ve posted in the Google/youtube community but haven’t gotten any replies.

I believe this is due to a corrupted YouTube profile. Having had exactly the same issue on two of my units I discovered the answer to the problem.

Fix:

In YouTube app, simply go to your icon at the top left column, select Guest account, select Music, then play a video and notice that you can now scrub. Then go back to your username and it’ll be fixed. Thanks for reading.
