latest update to this issue...I shut off and restarted both devices a couple times each. completed recent updates. IOS 18.1.1 and MacOS 15.1.1 and then tried again to connect and backup my iPhone to my MacBook laptop. the loading wheel started and i had to let it run for about an hour.....then it finally connected and synced. But even after I completed this backup and changed my music sync settings, i used the phone successfully for awhile and tried again to connect to my macbook to see if things are working and connecting better? but it is not....still takes about 30mins to one hour to fully connect and open to open the iphone control panel. anyone got any idea why this is happening?
