Fingerprint limitations on a mac book air?
Noticed I must enter my full password frequently on my mac book air. Is there an easier alternative to open my mac computer?

It is normal to have to enter your Mac login password each time you startup your Mac. If you let your Mac sleep instead of shutting it down, you will not (or at least should not) need to enter your login password when you open your Mac.
Note that there is no need to shut down your Mac in most circumstances; letting it sleep is fine. I rarely shutdown/restart my Mac.
