Apple TV/iPhone movies - cannot tell movies apart in library. All show as black images on initial page -

I use my phone and Apple TV to watch family movies (mp4) - but the home movies all show as a black images without titles in the Library until the movie is playing. I tried to add title screens to the movie but it did not change this. How can one get thumbnails or something to distinguish home movies?
