How to read Pocket CD-RW with an external tray DVD drive

I have a pocket CD-RW with my wife's 50th birthday pictures given to her by her sister. We need to read the disc and move the contents to our MacBook Pro Max. When I put the Pocket CD-RW in the tray DVD drive I get a mess that the disc is not readable by this computer. "The disk you attached was not readable by this computer." It does not say it is not readable by the drive, but by the computer. What can I add to my computer to be able to read the disc?

Kaz-K - Thanks for trying to help! I do not know the format. I tried looking up the format for the type of Saony Camcorder (2003) used on the Sony website and elsewhere, but failed to find it. I tried a tray external drive on my MacBook M1 Pro Max, and my 2017 iMac. Same experience. I do not have a PC. The person who made the CD-RW was also a Mac user.
