Having trouble creating a boot installer

I tried to run the Terminal installer script but I got this at the end:

Copying essential files...

Copying the macOS RecoveryOS...

Making disk bootable...

Failed to extract AssetData/boot/Firmware/Manifests/InstallerBoot/* from update bundle

The bless of the installer disk failed.

Does that mean the downloaded installer is corrupt, and I need to redownload?

Thanks very much.

PS the boot jump drive Is completely blank. Nothing written to it.

Really? An M4 mini that came with 15.1 factory installed?

That's probably the problem. New computers often come with custom OS builds. You will need to wait for the next major update, like 15.2 before your computer gets back on the mains. Don't try to erase it until then. In theory, Internet Recovery will still work. If not, then DFU, with the appropriate, custom IPSW will work, again, in theory.

Been like this since the age of the dinosaurs.

There is a known issue with creating bootable installer using macOS Sequoia.

Possible and obviously since it arrived that way

Though, I do remember @VikingOSX having done the Early Pre-Order process

They did mention, their's arrived and Immediately on Initial Boot Up and even before the Initial Setup

Was presented with " There is an Update available " alert

So, If I may ask

Was this M4 Mac Mini Pro part of the Early Pre-Order process ?

I thought I had it. Install from recovery in Sonoma. It got all the way to about a minute remaining, and two hours later it was still there. This is the kind of overwhelming frustration that makes people go postal. Personally I'm done. After all the Macs I've bought over the years, I'm sure this will be last one, and the end of my support for Apple products. Good luck and good night.
