Usually vertical lines indicates a hardware issue with the Display Assembly (usually the LCD Panel itself). Unfortunately the Display Assemblies for Apple laptops are very expensive and must be replaced as a whole these days.

If you go for a used display assembly, just be aware that the screen colors & HDR aspect may no longer be completely accurate since Apple has a special service utility they run to calibrate the replacement display to the Logic Board. Unfortunately the calibration is only available for an official Apple repair. For some people this may not be an issue. Another concern is that the Lid Angle Sensor is tied to the specific Logic Board so you must retain the original Lid Angle Sensor in order to allow the laptop to wake & sleep when opening & closing the Display Clamshell. I believe the Lid Angle Sensor may also be partially tied/synced to the Display Assembly as well, but that may not be as critical since I have used a different Display Assembly on a 2019-2020 Intel Mac and the original Lid Angle Sensor worked fine with it. I don't know about the M-series Macs. It is possible this specific model is not using a Lid Angle Sensor.
