Advice on Improving Automator Services Selection Experience
First, I want to thank Apple for creating the Automator Services feature. It’s an incredible tool that has been instrumental in automating many of my daily workflows. Honestly, I cannot imagine managing my professional tasks without it—it’s such a powerful and time-saving feature!
That said, as someone who relies on Automator extensively, I’ve noticed that selecting the exemplary service from the current interface can sometimes be challenging, especially when you’ve deployed several services. When I right-click on selected text and navigate the Services menu, I’m presented with a long list of services.
I wondered if there’s a way to improve the user experience when selecting Automator Services. For example, could there be a Services icon in the Finder menu bar that:
- Opens a dropdown list of all available services,
- Includes a search bar at the top to filter and find services as you type quickly and
- Offers a cleaner, more intuitive way to choose the exemplary service?
This is just one idea; I’m sure Apple’s talented team could develop an even better solution. I’d love to hear advice from the community or any workarounds others may use to address this issue.
Thank you again for such a lovely feature—it’s truly indispensable. Any guidance or input would be greatly appreciated!
