Can someone explain a strange artifact in a photo?

I took a photo on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. The OS and apps were up to date. The photo looks almost like two pictures were poorly spliced together. I'm attaching the photo. The "splice" is about 1/3 of the way from the left side. It is more noticeable in the lower part of the photo. It is frustrating because I was planning on using this photo but I will need to crop and edit it to make it usable, and it is not the image that I shot and wanted.

Here is the pertinent data about the photo.

Yeah--Jeff Donald's right. it's not motion during the exposure, but rather between exposures. I turned off HDR, because I got those things-- even on a tripod, it messed up some good pictures.

Interesting. I don't think it's a compression artifact. You sometimes see this when a camera moves during the exposure. I'm not sure exactly what the camera has to do to take a picture in 1/1500 s, but it sure isn't simple. It actually looks pretty good-- it's a lovely picture. I ran a blurring tool over two or three spots to disguise some sharp lines of discontinuity, and I thought it worked well.

I appreciate all of your comments. I have gone back and looked at the other shots that I took at that location and time, and they are all fine. I think that I overtaxed the camera/software on that shot. It was wide angle, wide open aperture (I don't even on a f1.5 prime lens for my DSLR.), a really fast shutter speed, and a slow ISO. I learned that I should not push it so hard. Thanks to you all.
