This is an issue for my iPhone (SE, 3rd gen).
I've selected DuckDuckGo (DDG) as a search engine using Safari. It works okay until Private Browsing is used. Then, Bing automatically replaces DDG. Switching out of Private Browsing and DDG is operative.
