Apple Music only offering one subscription plan

I go to subscribe Apple Music but it only offers the family subscription that I’ve just recently ended cause it’s just not worth 17 dollars a month. I see the online offer of 5.99 a month and would love to give apple that money but they seem to only want my business if I’m giving 17 a month. I refuse to pay that much. Why can’t I just have the basic plan?

The $5.99 plan is for College students only and verification is required. Do you qualify for that plan?

The Individual Plan is $10.99 which you should be able to downgrade to from the Family plan. You would usually have the Manage button to change the subscription plan to a different one, but you may no longer see it now that it has been cancelled. When you cancel, you still get the service until the expirations date, but it will just not renew again.

I would suggest contacting Apple directly to avoid any lapse in the subscription that will result in you losing any playlists you have already set up. Otherwise wait until the current Family subscription expires then sign up for the plan you want.
