sharing voice memos through text messages

i’ve been utilizing the voice memo feature in imessage but i’ve noticed after frequent use, i can no longer view the previous messages. i’ve tried importing the voice memo’s straight to the voice memo app and deleting the original ones from the text chat but i'm still not able to see my previous messages. what should i do?
