Do your Part: Report this issue to Apple. These are user-to-user forums. Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. So, report this to apple yourself, to spread the word. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what suits their customers' needs and wants in versions to come. Apple will know know thing of this issue, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone -Apple
2. Select: "But Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all started after installing this update. and how you have troubleshoot it thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there as necessary.

When your icons are set to large, the names will not show. Tap and hold on the screen to make the apps jiggle, then tap Edit in the upper left corner. Choose the Customize menu and change the icon size to Small.
