Unable to get my Apple Watch updated

after getting a new phone at the start of the year i have tried reconnecting my apple watch (no longer paired with my old phone) and i need to update my watch its not properly paired to my new phone as it says i need to update the watch, i tried installing the update and it hasn’t given me an estimated time the watch is stuck on the white clock after resetting and can not get into it to connect my hotspot, how can i get it updated? TIA

If the watch is ready updating, what is happening when you force restart it and try to update it again? Beware to never force restart your watch when it is still busy installing the update

Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown until the screen turns black and the Apple logo reappears, then release both buttons. Your watch may take a few moments to restart.
