It appears Verizon call filter is automatically turned on for new service. I think it is causing text messages for two factor authentication to be blocked. Has anyone else experienced this? I have turn off call filter (I think) but I’m still not receiving text messages for codes for two factor authentication.

You can check in Settings>Apps>Phone>SMS/Call Filtering and make sure it's set to "None".
Have you also checked the filters in Messages? Sometimes the messages with codes get dumped to Unknown Senders. Open Messages. Tap on Filters in the upper left then tap on Unknown Senders.
Thank you for your response. To Install the call filter app it requires I give the app access to my address book. Makes sense if I want filtering, but I don’t. I don’t trust the app enough to give it access to my address book. I can turn off filtering in the my Verizon app but it doesn’t seem to work. Even after restarting my phone.
It seems like there should be an app installed named Verizon Call filter. Enter that and follow the instructions from this Verizon article.
Thanks for your response. It appears the 2 factor code messages are getting blocked by Verizon so not getting to my phone to be filtered.
Do you have Verizon's Call Filter app installed? If so, try deleting it and restarting your phone.

If you never installed it, I doubt that Verizon is the problem here. But, you should still contact them directly.
