How to set "Multiple Alerts: in Calendar?

My calendar has recently changed-and much for the worse. The two features I have noticed have gone are both what I used to rely on.

I always used the two alerts for an event: for instance, on a distant event, I would be reminded a week before-then on the day of the event. Now my calendar only has one alert. Why has Apple taken it upon itself to remove this feature?

The second one that I really miss is they have removed the ability to attach a file into the "notes" section. I used this all the time to attach tickets etc to various events. Its loss is a considerable inconvenience.

Is there any I can revert to my previous-much better-calendar?

Calendar events sync to email accounts, so you are limited to the features offered by the account provider. Not all providers support multiple alerts. iCloud does, and I think Google does.

Likewise for attachments.

So my guess is that you are syncing your calendar to an email account that is neither of these; I see both 2nd alert and Attachments in my iCloud calendar.

Go to Settings/apps/calendar and see what Default Calendar is set to.

I use Google. I have the second alert but no attachments. I can add the attachments through iCloud (of the Google web-based calendar).

What device are you using? Mac? iPhone? iPad? Some combination?

On my Mac, I can add more than one alert. Add the first alert then hover over it and tap the "+" sign at the right of the alert to add another.

I don't see that there is a way to add a link to a file. You can add a file in the calendar in iCloud and it will be available in Calendar on your Mac.

You should let Apple know what you'd like to see here:

There are, however, lots of other calendar applications available for Macs. One of them may better suit your needs.

I can confirm this; only a single alert appears to be available per entry. That's a nuisance.

This, however, still seems to be working fine for me. The ability to add attachments is in the "Add Notes, URL or Attachments" section.

Hi-I'm just talking about the calendar on my iPhone, which changed overnight.

The second alert still there on the Phone. Once you set the first alert, the second one becomes available. It's been that way for as long as I can remember.

I've been attaching files (generally e-tickets) to the "notes" section for years-and this facility also disappeared at the same time.

As I never do this with my Apple Calendar, I can't speak to that. Google Calendar lets me add something from Google Drive.

I don't know what to tell you about the alerts. I have them. I've always had them. What services is your calendar synced through? iCloud? Google? Work?

As I said earlier, I don't see a way to add an attachment to an appointment on the phone. I can do it through iCloud.com. As I never use this feature, I don't know when or why it stopped appearing.

I've always used two alerts in my calendar-and I've always stored tickets as attachments on the "notes" section of the calendar. It was just an "insert" feature.

What happened is that I changed my Apple account-meaning that my iCloud account also changed. From that moment, I was unable to use those two convenient features. I didn't consider the issues connected, but someone on this thread suggested (unbidden!), that there was a connection with the iCloud account.

In view of that, don't see it as a coincidence now. However, it doesn't seem to get me any closer to getting back the calendar that I much preferred!
