Could you please guide me on how to disable the orange microphone icon from the menu bar on macOS 15.1? It's always showing up, and I can’t use Siri without pressing the microphone button on the keyboard, which is becoming quite annoying. I'd appreciate your help in quickly disabling it. Thank you!
FWIW, the icon shows when you have an app that is accessing the microphone. Check System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone to see which apps are using the microphone.

Thank you much! I use garageband. the mic icon appears with no intuitive route to disable it.
while I use an interface device for external microphone, etc. This disrupts my recording efforts: "Flickering" mic icon, "sputtering" in sound signal". Very frustrating. I had to search for a solution outside of Mac Help resources.
