Native Stickers app in iMessage not working

The native Stickers app does not work for me since moving to a recent iOS. I used to have several stickers stored and could use the feature without issue. Now, either since updating to a newer iOS (unsure of exact version when this began, but currently on 18.0.1) or moving to a new iPhone (16 pro), Stickers shows as blank and stickers I create go into the void.

The third-party sticker apps and Emoji sticker tab all show normally. When I click the native Stickers app and recents tab, nothing shows. When I create a sticker either from camera roll or directly in the Stickers app (plus button), they show up for a few seconds, then go blank in the Stickers app main tab. Occasionally a sticker will be visible without disappearing when I create it, but it’s gone when I go to use it in a text thread or elsewhere. I cannot add any self-created or saved stickers to texts or elsewhere anymore.

I’ve tried quitting the app, updating my iOS, and restarting my phone to no avail. I’ve seen a few people talking about this issue with no apparent fix or workaround. Please help!

Re: Native Stickers app in iMessage not working

Wondering if Apple Support's article for iOS 18 (link below) may help:

Add emoji, Memoji, and stickers with the iPhone keyboard - Apple Support

Else: You might want to try updating to the newest iOS 18 version:

(NB: It is always wise to back-up your iPhone data before updating)

About iOS 18 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 18.1.1 is the latest version

and

"This update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users".
