Potential Trojan Horse download on iPad and iPhone 11

Hi, I clicked what was shown as a PDF attachment in an email on the apple mail app on both my iPad and iPhone 11. It showed a brief message saying "downloading" but nothing else appeared to happen. When I downloaded the email to my windows PC Norton detected and removed a Trojan Horse from the attachment. Norton says the virus has only been issued in the last week.

I'm seeing conflicting info on Google regarding whether iOS can be infected.

Can anyone confirm if my iPad (iOS 17.7.2) or iPhone 11 (iOS 17.6.1) could have been infected. If so, what should I do to remove the issue?

Many thanks.

Its close to impossible for iPad or iPhone to be infected with a Trojan. The sandbox nature of iPadOS and iOS prevents anything from running outside of the area of the App it is in. So for starters it would not have been able to get out of the Mail app's sandboxed area. Second, if this was trojan meant for Windows, it would be entirely incapable of executing itself on iPadOS or iOS. Different platforms.

You can delete the email and that should be the end of it.
