Help with Connecting iPhone to Windows Server VPN (IKEv2)

Hello everyone,

I’ve been trying to connect to my Windows Server VPN using an iPhone, but I’m having some trouble. Does anyone know how to set this up?

Here’s some additional information:

I am able to successfully connect from a Windows computer.
The authentication method is username and password via RADIUS, using EAP with MS-CHAPv2.
On the Windows computer, I connect to the VPN with the following settings:
- Hostname: vpn.example123.net
- Sign-in info: Username and password
- Username: john.doe@example123.net
- Password: 123456

Any guidance on how to get this working on an iPhone would be greatly appreciated!

If your employer mandates a VPN for outside office access, then talk to them about providing one.

You cannot run Windows VPN Server on iPhone. If you are required to use a VPN on your iPhone, you'll have to use one made for iPhone. But please note that iPhone does NOT need a VPN at all. VPN on iPhone causes all sorts of issues. If you are not required by your employer or school to use VPN on your iPhone (which they should provide anyway, if they do), there is no reason to need one at all.

Thank you for your response! In my case, the VPN for Apple devices is specifically for users who need to access the office network remotely. This allows them to connect to local machines and resources as if they were on-site. It's not about general VPN usage on iPhones but about enabling secure access to our internal systems from outside the office.

Again, you can't use Windows Server VPN on an iPhone. You'll need one which is designed for iPhone, not Windows. If my employer required a VPN to access work systems, I'd tell them to provide a phone. I would NOT put a VPN on my personal iPhone. You need to discuss this with the IT folks at your employer.
