autoplay keeps showing recommended content which I do NOT want and disable feature under settings keeps turning itself back on

I can't stand this feature that pretends to know what I want to watch and starts playing on its own before prior credits have finished. I have gone to settings and disabled the autoplay button, but it keeps turning itself back on. I see no where that I can save my preferred settings. I have had Apple TV for 10 days now and am ready to cancel because of this!
