Using older .fcpevent files in new libraries

Trying to fix a damaged library with no backup. What can I do to modify a CurrentVersion.fcpevent file from July of this year to work in a new Library? As of now, I'm just dragging the entire event folder from the old library and into the new one by way of the Open Package Contents space. If this is a no go am I able to use the TextTool to modify the file to open the event into a new library? I'm doing this on a macBook pro running FCPX 11.0 and OS 15.1.1 (24B91).
