Search on iPad Calendar finds only future, nothing past. Using version 18.1.1.

Search on iPad Calendar fails to find past appointments and events, only finds “today forward,” which is not helpful if I need to confirm when last primary, skin, eye or vet appointments were, when the family received various vaccines, when last cancer removal was or refer to notes made at the time of appointments. Search is Search…why can’t it look back at least a year or maybe two? Operating system is 18.1.1. But in researching this area of Apple’s site for the topic before posting, I see this problem has been encountered by many people and for a long time. Anybody have a good solution?
