Corrupted files after a data transfer from MacBook Air to MacBook Pro

I recently got a new MacBook Pro. I transferred data to the new MacBook Pro through the migration assistant. Data was transferred from Mac (Macbook Air, old Mac) to Mac (Macbook Pro, new Mac). Now the problem is that there are some files that I cannot open on the new Mac, It is not any specific file type, it's happening with different file types. I logged out of my Apple ID from my old Mac and now when I signed back in to retrieve those files, I can't. Those same files are not showing up on my old Mac now. It was fine before the data transfer and before I logged out my Apple ID, but now I can't see those files on my old Mac, and can't open them on my new Mac. If anyone have any idea how I can get those files back on the old Mac or how can I get them to open on the new Mac, please let me know. Thank you!

Never had your issue.

You can be more specific— what exact file types / what application relation / where ?

You can erase and try again your transfer. Erase your Mac and reset it to factory settings

The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot of a brand new machine— you have one shot here. Set up your MacBook Pro - Apple Support

The second best way is use the Migration Assistant.

I have already transferred all the data using migration assistant as instructed. The problem I am facing is that there are some projects I had which I cant open in the new Mac. These are coding project so the files are is html, css, javascript format mostly. When I found out that I cannot access them in the new Mac, I tried to log back in my old mac with my apple id so that I can get these files. Ater logging in, I could npt find those files and folders in my old Mac. That is the problem I am having.

I used set up assistant to set up my new Mac and later used Migration assistant to move content to the new Mac.

The files which I mentioned were working fine on the old Mac until I logged out of my apple id. The files were in a folder on my desktop

I already checked the permission (I have read and write permissions). Also checked this in old Mac. But the files which I can't open in the new mac are not showing up on the old mac after I signed in again with my apple id.

This is the error I'm getting when I try to open the files (some of the files are in HTML format, some are in .png, .css, .js etc):

The document “index.html” could not be opened.

Try your operation again. If that fails, quit and relaunch the application and try again.
