iPhone 16 pro max wire started fire

I just bought me an iPhone 16 pro max. Less then 2 weeks and the wire was not connected to anything but the wall connector and it started to burn up the carpet. I had no idea where the smell was coming from and It lead me to the wire to charge my new phone.

what in the world. Anyone else? My carpet is burnt up, I’m scared to use any apple product now.

does apple help with a solution or do I need to take legal actions?
