Exporting photos from IPad to computer

I recently bought a camera connection for my Ipad. I used the connection to load up photo shots from my camera ( which is compatible with Apple).

The photos loaded onto my ipad but I now want to put them into my iphoto library. I linked up to the computer and whilst Itunes sees the Ipad BUT Iphoto does not.

Problem is that because Iphoto does not see the Ipad as a DEVICE - I cannot load up my photos.

Any suggestions

Yes, get the iPhoto 8.1.2 update which added support for the iPad.

The details on this update are available here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4052

No third party S/W should be needed for this function.
